Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Sociology - Overview

The PhD in sociology is an academic degree awarded for extensive study and research in this subject matter. This degree is very closely related to all the other sciences such as psychology, economics, anthropology and political science. The course work in sociology includes both micro and macro aspects related to social welfare. Its approaches are both qualitative and quantitative in nature. The Ph.D programme enables the researcher to acquaint with systemic methods of Investigations and critical analysis to develop and refine a structure of knowledge about human behavior and activities.

Time of Payment: All the candidates have to pay the I Year fee immediately after confirmation of the admission. For subsequent years, fees must be paid annually on or before 15th March.
# The fee for Full Time PhD Scholars, as indicated in the table, is the actual fee payable and excludes the scholarship amount.

It is to be noted that though the fee is fixed for two years, there may be a periodic nominal increase to meet the rise in costs.
